The counterweight bolts sheared because the counterweight got jammed up when it hit most likely some part of a connecting rod. That is almost always what actually comes apart initially. Usually a connecting rod cap gets jammed between the cradle and counterweight breaking everything. I've seen probably 50 motors do the same thing. We usually have to figure out what caused these things a couple times a week. Looking over things until we diagnose the initial point of failure, and we almost always come up with an answer we are positive on. The VG30DE forensic team.
